Children’s Division
Creative Movement & Pre-Ballet (age 3-6 years) »

The Children’s Division introduces students to their first years of dance training. Coordination, rhythm, body awareness, and ballet class discipline are emphasized through guided, creative, age-appropriate activities. In addition, Pre-Ballet students are introduced to elementary ballet terminology, positions and movements. Research from the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee indicates children who are given adequate opportunities to move and exercise in developmental movement patterns have brains better primed for learning.  Students engaged in dance have higher levels of academic achievement, problem-solving skills, creativity, and physical coordination. Placement in the Children’s Division classes is based on the age of the student as of September 1, 2014.
