Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy General Manager
Renee Griswold began her work with Milwaukee Ballet in 1997 and in 2002 was promoted to her current role of School & Academy General Manager after being on the faculty and the School Administrator. Under Ms. Griswold’s leadership, Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy gained accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Dance and became certified to issue student visas for the Milwaukee Ballet II program. She has also coordinated the relocations and opens of the current Riverpoint and Towne Centre locations.
Ms. Griswold serves on the National Associations of Schools of Dance (NASD) Nominations Committee and serves as a visiting site evaluator for the NASD. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Dance Council (WDC) and serves as the Chair of the WDC Scholarship Committee.
Ms. Griswold graduated with high honors with her Bachelors in Fine Arts and K-12 teaching certification in dance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While at UWM, Ms. Griswold studied under Ed Burgess, Marcia Parsons, Ferne Bronson and served as rehearsal assistant to Andre Tyson and Janet Lily. She has performed several seasons with Danceworks Performance Company.
Prior to her work with Milwaukee Ballet, Ms. Griswold was responsible for the Connecting Communities program, Community Gallery and was a lead teacher in the arts-based preschool program at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.
