Renee Griswold
Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy General Manager
Renee Griswold began her work with Milwaukee Ballet in 1997 and has held several positions such as School Administrator and Faculty. In 2002, Ms. Griswold was promoted to her current role of School & Academy General Manager. Since being promoted to this position, Ms. Griswold helped Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy to generate financial stability and the highest enrollment in the School’s history. She also led the process of accreditation with the National Association of Schools for Dance.
Prior to joining Milwaukee Ballet, Ms. Griswold attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Dance Program to continue the dance training she began at a very young age. While studying at UWM, Ms. Griswold served as rehearsal assistant to Janet Lily during collaboration between UWM Dance Majors and the Professional Theatre Training Program, and served as a rehearsal assistant to Andre Tyson. She also performed locally with Danceworks Performance Company and Wildspace Dance Company.
Upon graduating in 1999 with high honors with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and K-12 Teaching Certification, Ms. Griswold began work at the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. While at JMKAC, Ms. Griswold was responsible for the Connecting Communities program, Community Gallery, and was a lead teacher in the arts-based preschool program in the center.
